Geographical position

The Chechersk region was founded on December 8, 1926. Its territory makes 1,2 thousand square kilometers. The regional center is the town of Chechersk. The region is located in the northern-eastern part of Gomel oblast and borders in the north on the Korma and Krasnopolye regions of Mogilev oblast, on the Krasnogorsk region of Briansk oblast of the Russian Federation, in the west – on the Buda-Koshelevo and Rogachev regions and in the south – on the Vetka and Buda-Koshelevo regions.
